The Girls Summit 2025.

On May 27th and 28th, we proudly participated in the Girls Summit 2025 under the theme “Ending Period Poverty.” Period poverty remains a critical challenge, especially for young women and adolescent girls in Kakuma Refugee Camp.
During the panel discussion, we highlighted the incredible work being done by women-led organizations in advancing women’s rights, economic empowerment, and social change. We also celebrated the commitment of Blossoms Of Hope Initiative, which has pledged to empower 500 women this year through economic empowerment, particularly in the creative arts. Additionally, we are dedicated to providing 500 girls with Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) education and sanitary products to combat period poverty.
Special thanks to SAIDIA COMMUNITY INITIATIVE, Ukech Foundation, Rita De Yogi, Ref FM, Girl Power Action Initiative, Tabitha Maina, Wanjira Maina, Sadia Abakar Khatir Adam, Mohamed Abdalla, Nancy Mutola, Resilience Action International, She Can Initiative, ORAM – Organization for Refuge, Asylum & Migration, KALOBEYEI INITIATIVE 4 BETTER LIFE, and all other incredible partners who are working to empower girls and women globally.
We would also like to acknowledge George Olwanda from Ref FM, who has committed to offering 2 dozen pads to Blossoms Of Hope Initiative and SAIDIA COMMUNITY INITIATIVE every month to support this important initiative. His contribution will help us reach more girls and women in need.
By attending this summit, our girls gained valuable insights and empowered themselves to break barriers. We are more committed than ever to raising awareness and supporting the movement for period equity.
Let’s continue working towards a world where every girl can thrive, free from stigma and limitations.
